WE’RE WORTH IT….

Tracy Hollinshead Comments are off

Like other bridal boutiques and after doing research,  we have been thinking for a long while and mulling over starting to charge for appointments as we have always offered them free before.

So, (after much deliberation) we have decided to keep the first consultation free of charge and the second return visit also free ( if required by our brides) ,but any subsequent visits will be charged a fee of £35 .

Why charge? Simply because bridal boutiques do not operate like other shops. It’s not the same as breezing in and out of any other high street shop. During your appointment, you have our personal attention at all times, our years of experience and knowledge , the boutique to yourself and refreshments for you & your party if required.

Now, imagine it’s a busy Saturday, with several brides booked in. We excitedly turn up to work to help our customers and what happens? No shows.

Sadly, as much as we’d like to believe that people would phone ahead to cancel an appointment or let us know they no longer need it, many don’t.(we really appreciate those who do i may add) .I’ve lost count of the number of times I would arrive to work, sit around for half an hour waiting for a bride, just for them not to turn up.

Not only is this really annoying, crucially it means our business has just made a loss. Shop rents and staff need paying regardless of whether customers turn up or not. This means, a whole 60 or 90 minutes where we can’t see brides who DO want to come and see us has been wasted. Commercially, it’s just not viable for us to have hours and hours wasted where our boutique is empty due to no-shows.

Charging for 3rd and subsequent appointments wasn’t a route we wanted to go down but does mean we can ensure our time is paid for. We don’t feel that it’s an unreasonable request – that for those 30+ minutes of undivided attention on top of the time already spent at the first 2 appointments, assistance and advice, that brides pay a deposit. The £35 paid is then redeemable against any dress purchased, meaning the appointment fee is taken off the total cost.

We hope our lovely customers agree that this is money well spent. We proudly stock beautiful designer dresses that we believe are what our brides are looking for. We will ALWAYS provide the highest quality of customer service and give our brides our all.

We know our brides our worth it.

And we think we’re worth it too.

Thankyou for your understanding it is much appreciated .

PRETTY IN PINK ……….

Tracy Hollinshead Comments are off
 TISH & ANDY
In August 2018 my partner of 12 years proposed on my 40th birthday in Greece, totally unexpected. Once our holiday had finished I had some serious planning to do, (as someone who likes to plan this was fab). I had an idea of the dress that I wanted and started looking, in the meantime I had the location and venue all booked and the guests invited to our little piece of heaven in Zakynthos, Greece, all sorted by the end of September. We were getting married on 4th July 2019 with 19 of our close friends and family joining us.
As I mentioned, I had an idea of what dress I wanted, which my friends found hilarious as I’m not exactly a dressy type of girl. Anyway, I left so many voicemails at wedding dress shops all over the country asking if they had Plymouth by Opulence, ideally in blue. I never heard back from anyone, until 2 days later Tracy called me from Cherish Bridal, a pleasantry to say that she’d got my message, but also to advise that she didn’t have the dress that I was looking for but she’d have a ring to the designer and get back to me. Within a couple of hours she called me back, she’d found one but it was in pink, it was also in another country but it was my size!! I don’t think she’d even finished asking me “do you want me to get it shipped over” and I was saying yes, let me know when its there and i’ll come and try it on. It would be there by the following Friday, the same day I drove down to try it on. I lived in Liverpool and she was in Northwich so not too far.
Upon arriving at the shop, Tracy met me with a big hug and helped me get into the dress, (was on my own as I wanted to make the decision for myself,) plus I had a feeling that Tracy would be honest-  It fitted perfectly, closed the deal, paid and agreed to speak in the new year to arrange fittings and slight alterations, this was all done by the first week in October!!
Then I decided to throw a spanner in the works, we went to Spain at New Year and bought a house, to live in, and we moved the following April 19, 3 months . Leaving table decorations, favours and chair covers with family and friends to bring over to the wedding, we drove across to our new home!!!! May came along and I flew over to Manchester, along with my maid of honour to have my first fitting, as I was wearing wedding pumps I needed a bit taking off the bottom but I was determined not to have the dress let out, as it happens I only needed a couple more inches to loose….result!!. 2 weeks before we were due to fly out for our wedding, I flew back to the UK for the final fitting, with my dads wife joining me, lots of oos and ahhs and a couple of tears too. the dress was perfect, it was then packed amazingly in my bride dress box and given to my dad to bring to the airport with him, I flew home the same day.
Anyway, throughout all of this process, Tracy was amazing, she made me feel like I was the most important person in her shop, I can’t recommend her knowledge, her ability to get what you want and also to make you feel special, enough. Tracy you’ve earnt your reputation and it shows, thank you for everything.
We all arrived at our dream wedding location, in ridiculous heat, think it peaked at 48. With the great instructions provided my maid of honour got me into my dress, did my hair and I was ready…………everything was beautiful and after everything, I wore my dress for an hour. After the service, photos and drinks, my new husband and I jumped into the pool, fully clothed!!!!.

As Independant Bridal Retailers ,here at cherish bridal we are increasingly seeing more and hearing about more brides who are having wobbles about their choice of gown and if it truly is ‘the one’ !

In our experience 99.9% of the time the bride has chosen ‘the one’  and there are no doubts .

The other 0.01%  are what we call the ‘what if ‘ brides who have a wobble and don’t want to stop trying on or looking ‘just in case’.

We seem to be hearing about and experiencing first hand the ‘what if bride’ more and more lately , hence the reason for this blog!

So here is our take on the subject…………

PUT ON YOUR BLINKERS…

  1. Now that you’ve found your dream gown, STOP LOOKING AND SHOPPING !! — it will only make you nuts if you keep looking at dresses that you may like even more. Yours is great! Now just look forward to showing everyone on the big day.

Take a break from social media.

2. The internet can be a great place to find dress inspiration, but it can also drive you absolutely crazy!. You may find a dress that you adore, but looking at Instagram or Pinterest might make you fall in love with a completely different gown (that may not even be in your price range) and doubt your initial choice. It may be a good idea to take a little social media cleanse while dress shopping so you can stop comparing yourself to others. Focus on what looks amazing on you, not what looks cool on the internet.

STOP OVERTHINKING…..

3. When you’re thinking you’ve chosen the wrong wedding dress, chances are that you’re overthinking it – one of those things that happens  (temporarily, don’t worry!). It’s totally normal for brides to begin to question their dream dress, but when it gets to the big day, those magical feelings you had when you first put it on come flooding back! Trust us on this one!.

HAVE CONFIDENCE…..

4. Ask your bridal consultant’s advice if you are having wobbles about your dress! Chances are they will be able to arrange another try on of the gown and settle your mind that you have made the right choice for your special day and there’s nothing to worry about ! Have confidence in yourself and trust your consultant that you have chosen the right dress , you will look stunning on your wedding day!

DON’T TAKE PHOTOS….

5. Don’t look at photos of yourself in the dresses you tried on ,or the one your chose (some shops won’t allow pics )….Its not ‘your’ actual dress .It might have been pinned or held around you or sponges down your back – and we all have a habit of picking at our body shapes or features on photos and ripping ourselves to shreds – Its important to REMEMBER HOW YOU FELT when you looked in the mirror when wearing your dress ! Its what made you go for it isn’t it ?

PLEASE YOURSELF…

6. Its about what YOU love and no-one else ! Showing photos to people of what you chose will also add unnecessary stress as it might not be what they envisioned you to wear….BECAUSE THEIR TASTE IS DIFFERENT TO YOURS ! You can’t please everyone – so make sure you choose what YOU love !!

Happy dress hunting !

THE Mid Cheshire Snooker League has donated almost £1,000 to a brave Rudheath boy’s fight against cancer.

Eight-year-old Saul Barry Hayden is currently undergoing treatment at Alder Hey for Hepatoblastoma – a rare form of childhood cancer – following a diagnosis in April.

The rare illness begins in the liver and, in Saul’s case, spread to his lungs and one of his arteries.

The fundraising night for ‘Super Saul’ on Saturday, June 8, saw professional snooker player Ken Doherty attend and auction off tickets to a Master’s match as well as a signed, framed photo.

The tickets went for £300, courtesy of Winsford-based Pockets Snooker owner Martin Morgan – contributing to a total on the night of £956.

Mid Cheshire Snooker League chairman Neville Malam was on hand to present the money to Saul’s dad, Hayden, and family friend Michelle Fletcher.

Mr Malam said: “We run the charity team knockout every year to raise funds for local people, and Cherish Bridal in Northwich also sponsor us to run this for charity.

“It was an obvious decision to give this donation to Saul and his family when we heard of his fight from Michelle.

“We hope Saul has a swift and full recovery and look forward to inviting him and his family to a future event.”

Last week, Rudheath Primary Academy presented Saul with LEGO on behalf of teachers and governors.

In May, Witton Street Boots – where Saul’s mum Vicky Kay-Spruce works –

took on a cycling challenge

to raise funds for Alder Hey and to support the family as they manage the treatment.
